Traditional Chinese medicine is full of surprises!



The most bizarre parts of animals can be fined in China’s markets with ingredients for traditional treatment. The endangered species are the most required because it is believed they have more healing qualities than others do. 

So-called medicine markets sell everything from crocodile head and shark jaw to bear testicles and tiger penis.

They say in China that all diseases like backache, cancer, poor memory or erectile dysfunction can be cured with nature. Unfortunately, except herbs by nature they also mean animals and parts of their body. And what is really bad – Chinese use organs of endangered animals and believe the healing effect is greater than. 

These beliefs are widespread in Guangzhou. This place is famous as a market stock. The most exotic and rare animals displayed here and can be bought for luxurious restaurants, pharmacies or even for pet cages. 

Some students and conservationists running organisations (like Nature Society of South China and similar) challenging of traditions for centuries. Their main purpose is to stop the extermination of animals by changing a choice of appetites for consumers in China. 

So how does Chinese Medicine use parts of animals in treatment?

A Crocodile Head – usually used in soups. According to the traditions, the head of crocodile can be used for lung illness treatment. It is also believed that soup with crocodile head can improve memory. 

Jaws of white shark – extremely expensive ingredient for soup. One fin of white shark can be priced at $1,000. 

Testicles and penis of a bear – cure-all ingredient in Chinese Traditional medicine. Considered as an aphrodisiac and used for potency enhancement

Penis of a tiger – also a powerful aphrodisiac, used as a potency booster. Illicit product can be find easily at Qingping market. 

Guangzhou is the biggest and the richest city in the South of China. The market here is famous for exotic products – plants, animals, and fish.
